Window painting

I discovered this art form during winter time as I was looking for ways to decorate the spaces in an environementally-friendly way (the end-of-year celebration phase can be synonymous with loads of cheap, single-use, plastic-heavy, low-quality, imported decorations...)
So I found out about this old technique of using chalk powder diluted in a bit of water to apply on windows and I got obsessed with it as soon as I tried !
After a few attempts I felt there was potential beyond winter motives and I started experimenting with different brush techniques (mostly inspired by asian painting) and now I regularly paint my windows to give them a nice seasonal flair.

There are a few things that I find very exciting about this practice:
- ecological: gives a great ambiance to the room with only natural, non-toxic and local ingredients
- accessible: cheap, no fancy equipment, you just need a window, and it's actually much simple that it might seem
- practical: super easy to clean (chalk was even used traditionnally to clean windows!)
- creative: infinite possiblities, simply wipe it off and redo at will
- versatile: it looks awesome in different lighting conditions
- meditative: there is something calming in the painting process I find
